What is your interpretation of love? How far would you go for someone you deeply care about? It's common to be inspired by classic Bollywood films portraying love on screen, but does real-life love mirror those cinematic moments? How do you perceive the love you received from your mother or father during your childhood? Has your perspective on that love remained unchanged?

For me, love equals complete freedom. If love ever holds you back from something, it might mean you're in the other person's captivity. It all depends on individuals as each person has their own definition of love. In fact, in a generalized way, I can think of hierarchy in love. There are many layers and dimensions to love. It depends on you.

The lowest layer might seem political. There is dominance. Husband dominates wife, mother dominates children, girlfriend dominates boyfriend. Haha!

Love feels like politics sugar-coated, a bitter pill sugar-coated. Unconsciously, it feels like there is a deep desire to exploit the other. This arises possessiveness and jealously. It’s from here, sweet love turns sour. Sugar coated on top of possessiveness wears off soon and sour is exposed. During initial stages when you are in love and in honeymoon days, everything seems sweet. As time progresses, when everything appears as realities in stark naked after the sweetness wears off, everything starts going south. And, it's merely a situation where both of you keep each other confined and try very hard to part ways.

For this reason, many people have stopped being in love, as they've had enough drama and nagging from their partners, where there's a constant competition for dominance. This is the lowest form of love.

Let me tell you something about highest form of love in my point of view. Love becomes the state of mind when it is in its highest position in the hierarchy. You become love. You give love with anybody you are with. You expect nothing in return. Love is given for the sheer joy of giving it. You do not expect anything from the other person. You allow the other person to make decisions and choices without any external pressure to satisfy you or your ego. Even if the other person wishes to separate from you, you gracefully allow them to go without creating any unnecessary drama, as you genuinely love them and want them to have the freedom to live without any emotional restraints. This feels like the ultimate freedom right? Love in its purest form.

Love being in its purest form is ultimate freedom, sweetness keeps overflowing. I don’t say you’ll have to follow this kind of love, but this is my perspective of love.
